Seattle’s Sundance Swag

Seattle’s own Theo Chocolate has been included as part of the Green Bag swag for the Sundance Film Festival. Yum!

It looks like lucky recipients will get an Origin bar, a 3400 Phinney bar, and a selection of their delectable truffles. And not-quite-Seattle company Microsoft appears to also be contributing a HD DVD of Big Ideas for a Small Planet. I bet all those Sundance bigwigs will probably enjoy their Theo chocolates more, but that could just be my sweet tooth talking.

Did you know that you can tour Theo’s chocolates? I’ve been meaning to go!

I have! I’ve actually gone on the tour, complete with embarrassing headnets. My friend and her toddler came along, and when they let the baby sample some chocolate, she made the baby sign for “more” :) It was pretty cute!

I wore my hairnet into Brouwer’s for a beer after the tour cause my sister said beers were on her if I wore it. Tour was great. You can eat a hell of a lot of free chocolate. Seemed like every stop had more free samples.

Haha, I’d do that for free beer, too–especially at Brouwer’s!

The Theo tour is the best, and I would recommend it to everyone! I would also recommend calling them and scheduling the tour at least a week in advance. We went there one Saturday to find both tours filled up by 10am.

Oh, and I called them truffles once and was quickly corrected by the woman behind the counter. Apparently if they are not round, they are not truffles. Chocolate confections she said. Well ok then. :)
