Good samaritan attacked while reporting harassment

The Times reported this afternoon that a man fell and suffered a seizure after being punched in the head while trying to call 911 to report a woman being harassed on Capitol Hill last weekend. Read that again, if necessary. In summary: A guy was trying to help somebody and a trip in an ambulance was the thanks he got.

Apparently, Seattleites are damned if they do [times] and damned if they don’t [m-b]. What’s going on, Seattle? Did somebody raise our senseless violence quota without telling me? Has Seasonal Affective Disorder mutated to something even more sinister?

Update: The P-I is all over this story [p-i]. It turns out the man who was beaten was a teacher from Ballard. Joseph Skillings, Adams Elementary School 2007 Teacher of the Year, is currently in serious condition at Harborview.

Seriously! I am shocked. Could you stop writing on this topic Ryan? I want to reside in my rose-colored world.
