It Is Fine!
Crispin Hellion Glover has never exactly been the “typical leading man” but he’s always found work in the film business, appearing in such films as Back to the Future, River’s Edge, Wild at Heart, The Doors, and many more. Glover doesn’t just appear in films, though, he also makes them. His directorial debut came in 2005 with the surreal What Is it? , a surreal film noted for its use of a Down’s Syndrome affected cast.
Glover recently completed It Is Fine! Everything Is Fine!, the second installment of the trilogy that began with What Is It? Like its predecessor, It Is Fine… tells an unconventional story in an unconventional manner. In this case, the movie’s protagonist is screenwriter Steven C. Stewart, who both wrote and stars in the film, and begins with him lying helpless on the floor of a nursing room. As he is carried back to his bed, the world shifts around him and that’s when things start to get really weird.
Northwest Film Forum brings It Is Fine! Everything Is Fine! to the Broadway Performance Hall on January 10, 11 and 13 at 7 pm. All screenings are preceeded by Glover’s one hour slide show, narrated by Glover himself. As an added bonus, there’s a screening of What Is It? on Saturday at 7pm.
