taco bell, no more
Those looking to run for the border at the northern edge of Capitol Hill will now need to look elsewhere. The Taco Bell on Broadway, forever enshrined in the annals of Seattle History for its cameo appearance in Sir Mix-a-Lot’s “Posse on Broadway” video [youtube] and for far too many late night food choice bad decisions quietly closed its doors on the last day of 2007.
With Tacos Guaymas consolidating its forces to their Pike/Union location, La Puerta moving to the Broadway Market, Bimbos moving to 10th, and El Tajin setting up shop, this makes 2007 a major year for realignment of Mexican food on Capitol Hill.

Good riddance. Now for Yak-in-the-Box.
The Taco Bell on Bellevue Way over here on the Eastside just closed down too. (just as the limited Cheesy Gordita Crunch was available…)
sigh…
It’s truly the End of an Era. I can say with certainty that I’ve never once stepped foot in there sober.
Don’t forget Galerias. They have an outstanding Saturday/Sunday brunch. I recommend the Enchiladas Mole.
When you talk about Taco Bell, you should always put “Mexican” in quotes.
There is a Taco Time on Madison between 14th and 15th, though I have yet to actually wander in there. There’s also Taco Gringos on Olive and Howell I believe…though they may not be open yet. I can’t recall.
I just learned of the broadway taco bell’s demise today and am very saddened. It had been my primary source of delicious (YES) and cheap “mexican” food since 2001 or 2002. Sober or not, it was always delicious. RIP Broadway Taco Bell.
I was heartbroken when I went over there last night and saw it closed. I always eat there sober and loved the food. It’s really sucking more and more in this town. Sunset Bowl is closing…..I say we should kill those stinking city planners and officials who are killing this town.
Never do I pass by that Taco Bell without a Taco Bell story. It will be missed.
Broadway Taco Bell saved me from many a post Neighbours hang over. I will miss it. All the other places are so expensive!
