Still looking for D.B. Cooper

The FBI really doesn’t like a mystery–on Monday, they renewed their request for information on the end of D.B. Cooper, releasing, for the first time, a series of pictures and information relating to the case. In 1971 Cooper hijacked an airplane and then parachuted out of it and into the woods. Larry Carr, a special agent in the Seattle FBI office, took over the case last year [Times, FBI]. They’d like information, or useful speculation, and maybe for a hydrologist to trace the money found downstream back up and pinpoint where Cooper may have landed.

I imagine that 36 years worth of case probably builds up a lot of paperwork, so I guess wanting to figure it out already makes a lot of sense, but I like the story better as a mystery.

Whether or not he’s not already dead, I can’t imagine they’d be able to successfully dig up a convincing 36 year old paper trail if they haven’t already.
