Weekend Film Agenda
- The midnight movie at the Egyptian this week is The Royal Tenenbaums.
- What Would Jesus Buy? looks to be somewhat interesting: a group of activists go out to evangelize against over consumption in the roles of Reverend Billy and the Church of Stop Shopping Gospel Choir.
- Eastern Promises, the Viggo Mortenson/Naomi Watts film about Russian gangsters in London will be out on video later this month but I still recommend seeing it on screen at the Crest this week. It’s your last chance, so don’t delay.
- The nasty weather earlier this week damaged the roof at the Grand Illusion. They’re still working on it, so no films this weekend. They’re aiming for completion on December 14th–I sure hope they make it!
- Central Cinema has the delightfully weird Being John Malkovich.
Next week’s going to be a bit more exciting–a bunch of features are being released at once.
