The $20 Project: lunch and snacks

How do you spend $20 in Seattle? misc%20004.jpg

Well, if you’re me, you spend it on lunch and snacks, the details of which are available behind the jump.

You don’t expect mall sushi to be tasty which is what makes Sushi Kudasai, located in the food court of Century Square, so remarkable. Their food is excellent. I often go there for a super cheap sushi lunch but today I went for the Udon soup and a veggie maki roll for $9.85. misc%20006.jpg
Normally when I go to Monorail Espresso (5th & Pike), I get the maple syrup latte which is the yummiest latte ever known to man. Sadly, however, the acid pit known as my stomach hasn’t allowed me to have coffee for a while so I’ve had to have tea instead. Well, they have good tea, too. ($1.50 plus tip for the supernice baristas.) misc%20007.jpg
I went into Sixth Avenue Wine Seller in Pacific Place because a bottle of wine caught my eye and ended up buying instead a small bag of pistachios. Well, they’ll let me have pistachios at my desk at work and wine not so much so. $3.50 and worth every penny. misc%20009.jpg
Chocolate is not one of those things I love very much or even at all but every now and again I do I want a piece or two which is how these two truffles from Neuhaus managed to talk me into buying them on my way out of Pacific Place. ($4.32, including tax.) misc%20010.jpg

And there you have it. It took me about 57 minutes to spend all that money, maybe only 56 if I hadn’t taken the time to photo my soup and sushi before eating it. I am looking forward to see how everyone else spends their $20!

Nice post, then again a little luxury and self indulgence isn’t bad either.

Nice kick-off to the project Zee! Cash flies when you’re having fun and showing off a bunch of local stuff.

My office just moved into Century Square last week, and I have since eaten at Sushi Kudasai four times (after stopping the first time out of desperation…thinking that food court sushi could not be good). I’m glad to see the good word get out!
