ACC meeting agenda: 2007 candidate visit

// alki beach, 2007 //
Despite my usual complaining about the Alki Community Council, I will have to admit that it’s not all Slices and statues. One great thing the council is able to do is bring relevant governmental types to the meetings thereby making them accessible to community members that might not otherwise have a chance to hear them in person.
As such, tonight’s ACC meeting promises to be pretty interesting. According to the email update in my inbox yesterday:
Instead of a regular ACC meeting, we will host candidates for the Seattle City Council and the Seattle School Board. Each of our four guests will speak and receive questions separately:
- 7:05-7:30: City Council candidate Venus Velazquez
- 7:30-7:55: City Council candidate Bruce Harrell
- 8:00-8:25: School Board candidate Steve Sundquist
- 8:25-8:50: School Board candidate Maria Ramirez
If you have any interest in next month’s vote and you happen to be an Alki resident (all welcome!), this is a great opportunity. The meetings are held in the Alki Community Center which is located adjacent to Alki Elementary on 58th and Stevens [map].
Why stay home fretting about whether or not you’ll have power? See you at 7!
