It has come to my attention that there are some of you who don’t yet have plans to see Final Fantasy on 22 October [nectar]. I write now to give you ample time to correct your mistake, adjust your calendar, and secure tickets. Also to remind you that the event is not the video game but the solo-type project of Owen Pallett [myspace], violinist, arranger of strings for and sometimes touring member of Arcade Fire, contributor to Beirut, and winner of the 2006 Polaris Prize. While you’re looking for your credit card and datebook, why not enjoy this video of his looptastic cover of “This Modern Love” [youtube] or listen to a bunch of songs including one about Win and Regine on this radio broadcast [cbc]?

When I realized that unavoidable travel plans would have me over a thousand miles away on the 22nd, I was overwhelmed with nausea, regret, and schemes to pick up another date on the tour. But you’re lucky. You will be in town. The show is only $10. Buy a ticket now now. Thank me later. [brownpapertickets]
