T-birds win home opener, look forward to successful season

Unlike Dylan [mb], I know how to back a winner, which is one of the reasons I’m a fan of the Seattle Thunderbirds.

The team consistently plays good, exciting hockey, like they did this past Saturday when they defeated last year’s champs, the Everett Silvertips, in an exciting 3-1 win that gives the T-birds a 1-0-1-0 record. Goals were scored by Josh Schappert, Greg Scott, and Scott Jackson.

The next T-birds game is Friday, October 5, up at Kelowna at 7:05 pm. If you have a hi-def radio, you can listen to the game by tuning to the KWJZ signal at 98.9 MHz and set the radio to HD-2. The radio will display KKNW HD-2. You can also listen to the game on KKNW 1150 AM, webcast here. The next home game is Saturday, October 6, when the Rockets come down from Kelowna to meet the Birds at Key Arena. Tickets are available through the Key Arena box office, the Thunderbirds (call 206.448.PUCK) or through Ticketmaster outlets.
