Oh, The Places You Might Never Go

In honor of those who skipped Bumbershoot and took to the roads this weekend, here’s the ultimate road trip, Seattle to Boston via I-90, boiled down to 15 minutes (video by Katja Suletzki [#]; tip o’ the cap to Mr. Wilbanks for the find):

And if that didn’t satiate your inner road geek, check out WashingtonHighways.org, a new website from uber-USS Mariner commenter David Corcoran. David’s goal is to drive every section of highway in the state while taking pictures and making observations along the way. Says David:

It will feature every bit of information I can find on old route alignments, decommissioned highways and their alignments, and reasons for decommissioning. Once completed (in a couple years), it should be a totally informative resource on highways in the state of Washington, with occasional information on neighboring states (Idaho namely).

Although not complete, it’s an ambitious project and he’s off to an impressive start. Let’s hope he’s driving a hybrid.
