I need a dress… and some help from our readers
I need a favor, Seattle. My wardrobe tends to run to jeans, t-shirts, and the occasional cotton skirt. But soon, I will need a dress. Not just any dress, but a dress I will wear to pledge my heart and soul to another. So what is the problem you ask? The problem is that I don’t want a standard white wedding dress. I want something with color, something I can wear on our anniversary, something fun and girly and pretty.
Since I don’t shop for dresses, I need your help, dear readers. I need to know where to go shopping. Can you help me? Oh, and lastly, environmentally friendly or sustainable materials are a plus!

And not that she needs help, but, the hotter the dress makes her look, the better. =)
Try the Frock Shop on Phinney Ridge. Lots of pretty. flirty dresses at good prices. Possibly some recycled vintage too.
Sounds lame, but Nordstrom is a staple and should always at least be a stop. They have everything, every size, every color and every price. Other than that, Anthropologie has gorgeous dresses, but always a bit pricey.
Nordstrom is actually my first planned stop. I figure I can always use them as a “back-up” dress. I’d really rather find something from a smaller shop, but I know that if all else fails, I can definitely find something at Nordstrom.
I’ll add Anthropologie to my list. I love the dresses at the Frock Shop, but unfortunately, I tend to run a size 8-10 and the dresses at the Frock Shop seem to be tailored more to size 0-4. But I will definitely try them again.
I just bought a beautiful dress at the Frock Shop to wear to a fancy wedding. And definitely noticed that many of the dresses were in the 8-10 range, in addition to the 0-4 range. Good luck!
Frock Shop is awesome and I own half a dozen dresses from there (I’m an 8, btw), but if you want something a little fancier (since it’s your wedding day), you really should check out Olivine on Ballard Avenue. Also, Sway and Cake downtown (provided they’re still there–I’m not 100% on that)>
