Happy birthday party for the Market

The Pike Place Market has been celebrating this, its centennial year, for quite some time now, but the festivities are finally coming to a close on Friday, the 17th when the Market throws itself a birthday party that’s well worth checking out. From the free coffee and onion tarts near Flower Row from 8 to 9 am to the free birthday cake that accompanies the noontime commendations for long-time market vendors, Friday at the Market is all full of the festive on Friday.

If you can, I highly recommend getting down there by 9:30 so you can watch the re-enactment of the market’s original opening.
