the local ’08 money race

Fundrace Logo V4With the 2008 election a mere fifteen months away, it’s about time to start peeking into the pocketbooks of your neighbors to see who they’d like to see moving into the White House in 2009. Thank goodness for people with ambition and thorough grasp of area ZIP codes to sort through the revealing public records.

Unfortunately, the absorption of fundrace into Huffington Post seems to mean that the addictive and pretty heatmaps from 2004 are gone, but you can still plug in your address to see if your the people on your block are putting any money behind those window signs. But more interesting and voyeuristic is looking at Seattle’s wealthiest donors. By way of the Seattle Livejournal Community [#]: we find out that in the Democratic column the Gates family likes Obama, Allen has maxed out on Clinton, and Schultz is in the Edwards camp. On the Republican side, we find (surprise, surprise) downtown developer Martin Selig splitting his allegiances between Romney and Giuliani.

Has anyone found any other interesting contributors?

Chris Dodd appears to be very popular at WAMU (1301 2ND AVE). He gets $12,000 from several folks listed at that address. GOPers and other Dems get nothing.

I don’t know what to make of that, but it’s interesting.
