    Just because the horse meat was dressed up for the lions birthday doesn’t negate the fact that horse meat is closer to what a lion would actually eat (zebra being more common than water buffalo for them to take down). Although deer or some sort of animal like that would probably be the best, it would be much harder to source. Since the last horse slaughtering plant is going to shut down, it’s probably going to become a dead issue anyway and they’ll have to move to beef. I wonder if they could eat kangaroo, from what I understand from my Australian friend they are a lot of them, enough that Addidas makes their soccer shoes out them anyway.
