Fireworks over Lake Union around 9:45

I’m sure you’ve heard about the party that’s taking over Gasworks tonight, with all of the talk of guests who don’t know they’re invited and people being organized to act as protestors. Today in the mail I received a card from The Workshop about the party. It says, in part,

“As part of the event, there will be a short (7-8 minutes) firework display over the north end of Lake Union, as well as a special effect from a propane cannon that will look like a fireball over the park. This is scheduled to take place around 9:45 pm that evening.”

It was very nice of them to send a card, in case I had been planning my own fireball propane effect for tonight, which would have been embarassing, (Although I guess a card probably means I’m not getting an invitation.) You should be able to see the fireworks from most places around the lake.

The fireworks were for 3 birthday parties, including the gas works party and 2 weddings that were taking place around the lake.
