If you’re looking for something fun to do this weekend, you should check out Lake Fest 2007 from noon to 10 pm this Saturday, August 11, at TOPS Steward School, 2500 Eastlake Ave E. (The incredible suck of parking in that area is more than made up for by the incredible ease of bussing there instead.) In addition to all the regular fun festival goings on–food, beer, vendors, et cetera–there are some great music acts performing, the highlights of which (for me, at least) are Optimus Rhyme [MS], local rock goddess Carrie Akre [MS] and the almost-a-supergroup-of-sorts From the North featuring Shawn Smith and Kevin Wood.
