Also to “I Heart Bikes…”: The sentiment of a Compromise is respectable, but in the case of Stone Way, the truth is that _everyone_ would be better off if Stone Way were reduced to 3 normal lanes plus bike lanes, because this would make it easier for trucks to turn left onto or off of Stone, and cars would no longer have to wait behind hill-climbing bikes in the traffic lane. The traffic level does _not_ warrant four lanes, nor will it anytime in the foreseeable future. So in this case, to come up with some middle-ground compromise would in reality do _everyone_ a disservice.

Eww. Why don’t these organizers with nothing better to do spend their time trying to get commercial interests on board with a compromise solution instead of riling up already testy-tempered Critical Massholes for yet another demonstration that will just turn public sentiment against them? Make your presence known by doing something other than running stoplights and whining.

Ohhhh so that’s why they have the half-assed lane markers on Stoneway? There’s so much bike traffic on the bike lane on 34th, I always found it odd that no one turns left to go up to Greenlake given the ample recreation opportunities. And then I remember it’s because it’s steep and bikes are cramped next to parked cars. +1
