Canned Salmon

One of my favorite things about Tacoma is all the nifty public art downtown at the transit facility. My favorite piece is called “Canned Salmon”, a sculpture by Vladimir Shakov and Chris Wooten that was created from 6,000 aluminum pieces that were themselves made from over 800 recycled cans. I liked “Canned Salmon” in part simply because I like salmon (to look at, not to eat), but also because I really like seeing work made from recycled or reclaimed work.
