A New Troll for Fremont

A few weeks ago, as I was wandering the Fremont Sunday market, I noticed a new resident. Fremont has a new Troll.

I contacted the Fremont Sunday Market and found out that unfortunately, the troll is only a temporary visitor. Jon says that the troll is there for part of the summer, though representatives from a Las Vegas casino are flying out next week to consider purchasing him. The troll was designed by Kim Graham and assembled by her and a team of 25 volunteers. He’s made of entirely non-toxic materials, wood and paper mache. If he looks vaguely reminiscent of a certain blockbuster movie series character named Treebeard, it’s because he was partially inspired by the Ents from Lord of the Rings. You can read more about the troll on Kim Graham’s website [#].

    I like him.
But what’s wrong with the old troll?

There’s nothing at all wrong with the old troll. I like him too. :-)

Not hanging around Fremont much, I can’t be positive, but he may have made his debut at the Solstice Parade — I know I and many other shutterbugs got shots of him and the other Ents on parade there.
