Metblogs Lunchtime Suggestion: Kaosamai Mobile Lunch Truck
Now, I’m not a Phad Thai expert, and I usually opt for curry when at a Thai restaurant, but I can’t stop thinking about the Phad Thai Kaosamai was serving in their mobile lunch truck during Summer Solstice Festival. I stumbled upon the truck while stuck on one side of 36th Street during the parade, separated from the festival food booths like East and West Germany, and ordered a heaping plate of Phad Thai noodles for only $5. Amazing…My taste buds have been watering for these entire two post-festival weeks.
TIP: The Peanut Sauce Really Good, sitting on the table=to die for. Seriously. Slather that stuff on!
So, I googled Kaosomai Thai and discovered a couple of interesting facts about the Fremont-based Thai restaurant extraordinaire (cause this ain’t no mediocre joint, my friends):
1. Kaosamai is pronounced: Gow-sa-mai.
2. They were nominated one of the top 10 Thai restaurants in Seattle for 2006.
3. Kaosamai claims to have the biggest outdoor deck and more parking than any other place in all of Fremont.
4. They cater events AND deliver to Fremont, Ballard, Wallingford, Greenwood and upper Queen Anne.
5. The owner, Doug, can make you a one-of-a-kind mobile cook truck just like the one he built for Kaosamai. Just give him a call!
6. The mobile lunch truck apparently parks at 3 West Nickerson at the Shell Station located next to 7-Eleven–one block east of Seattle Pacific University.

I, too, am a fan of Kaosamai Phad Thai and their other dishes are great too. I have had my fair share of Phad Thai and Kaosamai’s is one of the best.
i am going to have to check that one out. I have been in a little bit of a Thai food rut these days. Combo A from Cilantro on 1st is my go-to lunch, but i am always looking for better.
