Metroblogging asks: Where do you 4th?

Rumor has it (and by rumor I mean, you know, according to the WSDOT) that the Roanoke I-5 off-ramp and the Boylston on-ramp will be closed during the fireworks on Lake Union on Wednesday, presumably so that people can stand on them to watch, because they have pretty good views. It seemed like a funny place to watch fireworks from to me, what with all of that unforgiving asphalt, but then some other friends mentioned that they tend to walk down to Lakeview from Capitol Hill to watch the show. (My apartment looks out over Lake Union, so I don’t usually go anywhere because people come to me.) It turns out that hardly anyone I know goes to places like Gasworks Park or Ivars for the 4th of July–everyone seems to have their own favorite niche to view from.

Which got me to wondering, dear Metroblogging readers: where do you go to watch the fireworks?

There are a couple of prime viewing spots in my neighborhood that allow me to see displays over both Lake Union and Elliott Bay. For an event during the day I highly recommend viewing the Naturalization Ceremony down at the Seattle Center.

Also, the City of Seattle events page currently has listings and links for a ton of local July 4th events around the Puget Sound for anyone who doesn’t know where they want to spend their day: http://www.cityofseattle.net/html/VISITOR/weekend.htm

This week I am going to drive over to the Snoquamish rez here in Kitsap and gonna get some good bottle rockets and Roman candles and then shoot them at Bainbridge Island from the Kitsap Side of the water (No you can’t hit Bainbridge with a Roman Candle or Bottle Rocket)

Best spot for Lake Union fireworks is from my boat tied up next to Mick & Schmicks.

Best spot to watch both ‘works is definitely anywhere along Minor N or Lakeview N.

I think two years ago I was standing on the southwest shore of Lake Union when I took these:
