It’s things like this that make you all the happier about the demise of the poster ban: 1UP to the construction paper mosaic artist who turned this telephone pole into pixelated Super Mario Brothers street art! Does anyone know where in Seattle this is located?

edit: from the comments and the geotagging, looks like this was on Elliott between Bell & Blanchard.

(thanks to John of cooklocal.com who saw this at kotaku [#] and passed this along by way of our nifty Suggest a Story link.)

Behind the Jetta, there’s a sign pointing to 2300 Elliott.

it is in front of the seattle art institute, 2323 elliott. just south of the main entrance.

The original photos (see http://www.flickr.com/photos/meyerweb/tags/papermario/ ) are geotagged, so that should get you in the right place.

Also, I want to make clear that I did *not* create this street art. I just took pictures of it and posted them to Flickr. One of the three pictures brought up by the above link is a shot of the artist’s (or artists’) signature(s). Just want to make sure credit goes where it’s due (which most of the other posts on the net, like the Kotaku story, don’t bother doing with regard to the pictures).

Thanks Eric — I didn’t see the “signatures” picture; so I added that to the caption to further clarify that you were the photographer but not the creator of the mosiac.

I didn’t notice the geotagging the first time around either. Looks like the commenters were able to get a pretty good fix on the location from context.
