Paging DC and Philadelphia
Well, for those of you guys who were wondering, here’s another reason why you can’t get a date. All the excess single men (in blue) are out here on the West Coast. All the excess single women (in red) are back east somewhere.
Note to east coasters looking on: Seattle needs women.

I wonder what they’re counting as ’single’ though. Because as a single female in Seattle I meet lots and lots of unmarried men, but a large portion of them are gay.
I wonder, too. A lot of the ’single’ men I meet who aren’t gay are’t really single, either, theyre’ just in committed, permanent relationships that are just like marriage except that they’re not recognized by the state as such.
Some things never change.
Leftovers from gold rush migration patterns?
Anyway, I’m not sure that gay males explain the east-west divide — because I’m pretty sure that NYC and Miami don’t have a shortage of gays, yet their red dots are pretty large.
Does anyone actually have the National Geographic from February 2007? I’ve seen this posted elsewhere and can’t seem to find their methodology online or the chart mentioned in the electronic indexes for the 02/2007 contents of the magazine.
I wonder what the blue dot looked like before Microsoft and other techies came to town.
I’m a single woman in Seattle! Does this mean I’m a hot commodity?! ;)
It’s a Gluten loving conspiracy!
Cool, I’ll be visiting Philly in a couple of weeks! It would figure I’d have to travel 2800 miles for an opportunity to meet an eligible single female in my age bracket.
jeanna, if you are a single woman w/o children, yes you certainly are.
