A Convenience Truth

As an internet saavy child of the technology generation, I always jump on a chance to forgo a phone call errand for one which can be done via internet. Unfortunately, Bartell Drugs’ website seems to have a few failings which make its internet prescription service a total failure–as in it is not connected to the stores.

I ordered my prescription online on Friday afternoon and recieved a confirmation e-mail telling me that my order would be ready at my local store at 2:15 that afternoon. So Sunday, on my leisurely jog through the neighborhood, I stopped in to retrieve my drugs. Lo and behold, they had no record of this order being placed. What’s more, they had never heard of any system for ordering over the internet.

So beware, internet generation, of companies purporting to offer an extra convenience, and call in your prescriptions if you want them filled.

That’s weird. I use the online service to order my refills every month from the Wallingford Bartell’s and I’ve never had a problem.

Uhh.. that’s a pretty abject failure of the system. I’d contact somebody about that.
