Bat-N-Rouge, this Saturday at Cal Anderson

Softball’s not one of my favorite sports but I think it can be entertaining sometimes. One of those times is when it’s Bat-N-Rouge, the fundraiser for the Capitol Hill Alano Club, the non-profit home of 12-step groups that serve the GLBT community. Pitting “The Drag Queens” versus “The Dykes”, Bat-N-Rouge features nine innings of some very, very appealing baseball along with cold drinks, hot dogs and even hotter cheerleaders. batonrouge.jpg

Jamie Pederson will be on hand to throw out the first pitch; the game starts at 1pm at Cal Anderson’s Bobby Morris Playfield at 11th & Pine on Capitol Hill. Tickets are a suggested $5 donation and can be purchased at the park on game day or in advance at Capitol Hill Alano Club at 199 E. Madison.

This year the Bat N Rouge was the best ever with wild antics from a overflow field of drag queens against a squadron of dykes who appeared to be fresh from a tour of Irag! It was well managed and emcced with wonderful prizes to be had by all….definitely the place to be for the kick of Gay Pride 2007!
