A bit of late spring cleaning

Summer is but a few short weeks away, and I’ve finally gotten around to doing some spring cleaning. As usual, I have a large box of clothes that I no longer wear. I’ve gone through and tossed all the ones that are simply worn out, but I’m left with a large pile of shirts, jackets, ties (yes, the clothes are not all mine), and pants that are destined for charity.

I’ve gone through this process several times since I moved here two years ago and previously, I’ve just taken everything to the local Goodwill. But I wonder, are there better places? In particular, where should I take the more formal attire such as the winter coats and pants?

I could simply search the interwebs for local charities, but I figured that you, dear readers, might have recommendations for me. Where would you take women’s and men’s clothing in good condition?

A cute thrift store is on 65th and Roosevelt, called The Last White Elephant. It is entirely run by volunteers and its profits support the local animal rights organization (northwest animal rights network). You can donate from noon-5 every day and they’ll give you a receipt for tax deduction.
