wtf? slog taken over by army of commenters?

Hi Seattle. I’m in Berlin right now. At the moment, I’m back at my hostel in Mitte recovering from a leisurely beer-garden infused half-day bicycle tour of the city (silly and obtrusive, I know. Yet my feet were too tired to see the city on foot and my geography isn’t good enough to risk a d.i.y. cycling expedition, alas).

Nevertheless, sitting on the sidewalk and looking at the internet to see what was happening nine timezones away, I turned ye olde web browser to the Stranger’s weblog to find that the Slog’s most frequent commenters seem to have overthrown the staff writers, skipped right past the “unpaid intern” phase, and taken over writing the whole thing.

I haven’t the enthusiasm to research the source of the turnover — did the writers go quietly into the afternoon? was there a massive confrontation outside the KFC? and what does my hero, A. Birch Steen think of all of this?
