U District is year around now, of course.

If I had one recommendation, it would be to go early-early during strawberry season (June-ish) and pick up as many as you can eat in one weekend. Strawberries do not travel well, and the locals are blood-red to the core and strongly flavored. They’re heaven.

Of course, you’ll get about 48 hours to eat them before they’re a rotten mush. But if you happen to own an ice cream maker like I do… you can turn them into sorbet with some sugar syrup and a little orange juice to brighten the flavor.

I’m a HUGE fan of the Fremont Sunday market. I always seem to find something that I can’t go home without.

And, LOVE the recommendation for Little Prague. Extending my pastry selection sounds dreamy!

Check out the awesome, delicious food at the stand for Little Prague Deli and Bakery. I grew up in a Czech neighborhood in Chicago and every time I have a pastry from Little Prague, not only does it make me sentimental, but yet it also makes me miss home just a little bit more.

The Seattle Neighborhood Farmers Markets aren't the only markets around, there's also the Seattle Markets in Fremont, Ballard, Wallingford, and Madison Valley (plus Queen Anne coming soon apparently!). They tend to be a bit more upscale and diverse than the neighborhood markets, with more non-food food items (particularly at Fremont). Although apparently the Madison one is moving to the parking lot of the frickin Grocery Outlet this year, ick.
