Great news for people who like good news about good new bands made of members of old bands that they used to like a lot, too: according to the Seattle Weekly’s music weblog [reverb], Grand Archives has signed to Sub Pop. This after one very good first show [mb], four promising polished demo tracks, and a hasty (and kind of unfortunately uncatchy) renaming.

This puts them on the same label as former bandmates and similarly forced to re-name themselves Band of Horses. They’ve grabbed seven opening spots on the current Modest Mouse (and Love as Laughter) tour and will be playing a show at the Crocodile on 27 April.
