SXSW for the Agoraphobic Seattleite

Love Austin-based indiegasm South by Southwest but don’t dare to venture below the 45th parallel? KEXP has got you covered yet again. The annual decampment to the Austin City Limits studio has begun, with John Richards, Cheryl Waters, and Kevin Cole all broadcasting today through Friday with live performances.

Performances kicked off, um, ten minutes ago, with atmospheric post-shoegaze (am I just making up adjectives? perhaps) Brits the Early Years. Sorry, the uncompressed stream distracted me. If you’re looking for something with a bit more advance notice, I highly recommend tomorrow’s broadcasts of Peter Bjorn & John, Fujiya & Miyagi, and Apples in Stereo, or Friday’s performance by Okkervil River.
