Wednesday Agenda: Do Make Say Dorks and Laffs
Do Make Say Think is a Canadian fivesome in town to support their latest album. They’ve been at this album-making thing for the last 10 years or so, and they’re getting pretty good at it. Says Pitchfork: “Unlike their early work, with its abrasive tangents, their fifth album is fairly seamless– it gives more and demands less from the listener, and marks DMST as a band more invested in confidently honing and perfecting their idiom than in pushing their own boundaries.” At Neumos, doors at 8:00, $10.
Dorkbot is gathering again, this time at 911 Media Arts Center. They “will have two fabulous presentations about dorkish history and alternate dorkish history: Things that were and things that could have been.” And then, show and tell. 7:00, free but donations requested.
The most unfortunately named but consistently entertaining night of comedy in town, Laff Hole, presents Laff Stravaganza at the Capitol Hill Arts Center. The early show is all-ages, the late one 21+. $5 per show or $8 for both. It’s always funnier the more you’ve had to drink.

And This American Life, for the Craigslist inclined!
and Midlake at the Crocodile!
(if only I didn’t have to sit at home preparing for my talk tomorrow …)
My butt would be rocking to the Denton Sound of Midlake if I didn’t have to pack and get on a plane tomorrow morning.
