Wash. Senate approves partnership bill

Today the Washington Senate passed a domestic partnerships bill that will now go to the House. Assuming they show the same good sense and pass it there, the bill goes to Governor Gregoire who is expected to sign it into law.

The bill creates a domestic partnership registry with the state, granting hospital visitation rights, the ability to authorize autopsies and organ donations, and provides inheritance rights in the absence of a will.
