Blarch Badness: VOTE in Capitol Hill, Round Two

Sound Politics got scorched, baseball and football prevailed, and the first round wasn’t all that buzzworthy. Meanwhile, the Slog squeaks out a very close win against jameth, filling the Stranger offices with indifference, ennui, and shoulder shrugs.

But now, Round Two is here, and with it new polls — and new questions. Are we a Seahawks blog town or a Mariners blog town? What do we love more, foodies or yellow journalists? And is Bon Vivant ever going to update her blog?

CAPITOL HILL REGIONAL
Regional Semifinals

February 14

#1 Slog vs #4 Seattle Bon Vivant
The Slog has been ignoring us. Maybe that’s good. Or maybe they’re just lingering out there looking for the right moment to strike at us with a misguided Erica C. Barnett screed, or a 5000 word Charles Mudede essay comparing me to Cecil Rhodes. Meanwhile, when exactly is Bon Vivant going to be updated? UPDATED: Right after I ask this question, of course.

#6 Field Gulls vs #7 Lookout Landing
And now, the showdown between this city’s two sports fan groups (since the Sonics are loading the moving vans). The pupil (Field Gulls) meets the teacher (Lookout Landing). Who can motivate their readers more?

Voting continues in West Seattle Round Two (through next Sunday) and U District Round One (through tonight!)

Tomorrow, onward to Ballard, where the West Seattleites will continue to ask the same question, and I will continue to ask why they can’t read.

Were there any Sonics weblogs in consideration when we set up the tournament? Maybe that’s indicative of why no one cares if they move to Oklahoma or Renton.

there are a couple out there (supersonicssoul & sonics central), but they don’t seem nearly as trafficked as the baseball or football blogs.

i think a lot of the people who follow the team became immediately resigned to the new owner finding a way to move them to oklahoma. asking taxpayers for $400 million seems to have justified that pessimism.
