Carrying? Going to court?

Somebody on LJ Seattle offers tips on how to secure your legal, concealed weapon when going to the King County Courthouse. It never occurred to me that this was even a possibility. Personally, I’d just leave the gun at home, but that’s me.

We haven’t checked this out at all, so if you’re likely to need this, call the courthouse first. Metroblogging Seattle claims no responsibility if you get hassled or arrested. (But if you do, tell us what happened.)

A partial sample:

  1. Make it easy on yourself. Use the Third Avenue entrance.
  2. When you get to the metal detector calmly tell one of the nice people that you are carrying a concealed weapon and need a sheriff escort to secure it.
  3. The sheriff will walk you to their lockup remember for yourself how to get there. The first time you are there they examine your ID and concealed carry permit….
