Hey all,

I called Nikolai Nolan, founder of the Bloggies, and got some perspective on Seattle's place in the list of nominees, albeit not much. Check it out on Net Native, my blog at the P-I:

There seems to be a national v. local problem here. I haven't even glanced at this year's Bloggies noms, but last year's seemed to be dominated by blogs that aim for a national or world audience rather than local focus. (And there's generally a good thing.) Maybe we're too much into civic self reflection here for any of us worthy of consideration by the big Bloggie-voting audience.

But it is a bit scary that the big blogging voices are starting to concentrate around the same places where MSM is centered.

To be fair, we didn't get a nod, either. Nor did anyone else in the Metblogs network. OTOH, Seattlest's mothership Gothamist is up for a Bloggie.
