tuesday agenda : lynch-a-palooza

David Lynch, amateur weather reader, Snoqualmie enfamer, transcendental meditator, and creator of too many mind bendingly fantastic movies to list, is taking Seattle by storm this week. In town on the occasion of INLAND EMPIRE‘s Seattle premiere, he’ll also be making a series of other appearances to make the most of his visit:
- Tuesday:The day before his new digitally filmed, self-distributed movie is having its first screening at the Cinerama, Lynch will be reading from his new book about his life, films, and meditation, Catching the Big Fish: Meditation, Consciousness, and Creativity to a sold out audience Town Hall. [elliottbay]
- On Wednesday, the fun starts at noon at Scarecrow Video, which means that you’ll want to be there hours ahead of time for prime placement for the signing line. It’s cold outside; so dress warm and make sure to bundle your priceless collectables in weather-resistant packaging
- After that, he’ll head over to the Cinerama for the 7:30 pm screening to talk about the movie and answer the questions as the audience tries to make sense of what they’ve just seen. [cinerama]
- Closing the day is a second screening. The midnight show is an option for people who didn’t manage to get tickets to the 7:30 showing in time or for anyone who needs an immediate second viewing before the Cinerama converts back to usual [Golden Globe winning] Dreamgirls playing operations.
At least two of these are sold out (there might still be tickets left for the midnight if you’re brave enough to face the wee hours of the morning after 179 minutes of Lynch); so you’ll have to spend the afternoon trolling craigslist [#] for a lucky or pricey break.
edited to reflect the actual schedule of events rather than my mangled interpretation of the calendar

Somehow I totally missed out on the original announcement of this (that’s what I get for being a member of NW Film Forum instead of SIFF, maybe?), and I am so, so sad. The boyfriend and I are currently debating whether we can make it through the midnight showing, Scarecrow says they have “plenty of tickets”.
P.S. Town Hall is tonight but everything else is on Wednesday.
