And then there was a (sculpture) garden

Under the category of “well, that took long enough,” the much-touted Olympic Sculpture Garden is finally opening on the north end of Belltown.

This weekend, the Seattle Art Museum is planning a wealth of opening-day activities at the new sculpture park, mostly family-friendly music and dance. Parking is expected to be an absolute nightmare, so if you go, take the bus, or park at Seattle Center or one of the other shuttle locations listed here.

Shameless self-promotion: I went along today and took some photos: http://flickr.com/photos/eldan/sets/72157594482066128/

I’m really impressed with how this place turned out, even if it was a long time coming.
