when animals attack woodland park zoo will kill them

I admit that I haven’t visited the Woodland Park Zoo, but I’ve been assured that it’s very nice. One thing that I’ve never heard animal watchers or Zoo Tunes attendees mention is an overwhelming fear about what would happen if the animals were ever liberated from their cages. Today, KING5 assures us that there’s no need to worry about a 12 Monkeys situation. The Zoo has a team of snipers and a plan to take down the wild beasts should the need arise:

… the first plan of attack is to bring in a veterinarian with tranquilizer darts. It’s only if that fails or if human life is threatened that the emergency response team is brought on board. The zoo’s guns and ammunition are considerably bigger than what police use, suitable for large animals. All members, who are certified annually, know the quickest and most humane method to put down whatever dangerous animal they may have to deal with. [king5]

And should the rampaging animals make it past the gates into the surrounding neighborhood? Never fear, at that point they’re turned over to the cops for a big game hunt.
