You know a couple of months ago I was very flippant about the supposed crime in my neighborhood. Alki isn’t so bad, I was heard to say, and I actually believed it. But then the killer cars came. The biggest profile incidents were the two separate accidents along the boulevard due to excessive speed, the West Seattle bridge closing several months ago [stimes], and now there have been at least 3 pedestrians hit in the past two days [pi]. Not to mention the fact that there was a stabbing (!) [wsh] a week ago and there have been sirens swooping past regularly in the past week, week and a half.

Why, people, why? Is it the rain? Please drive (and walk!) carefully. I worry about you.
