Those of you who were smart enough to show up early to August’s amazing BOAT/Tullycraft/Salteens show at the Sunset probably had your pants charmed off by the cheeky hip hop stylings of Voxy. And then you probably went home and tried to find out where you could buy/download yourself some sassy rhymes only to find out that….you couldn’t.

But now! Now you can. Voxy finally relseased some tunes for downloading on their myspace page–including my favorite, “Chicks with Dictionaries.” The songs were all recorded and produced by DJ DuJour, and with any luck the girls will put on some more shows. Because there really aren’t enough smart lady rappers out there.

i was at that show. both voxy and tullycraft were terrific! the hippest trends in indie-rap, dance-punk, and indie-pop all in one evening. how did we get such a great music scene here in seattle?

No problem, Carla. Happy to spread the love.

Yeah, Winnie, that show ranks pretty high on my favorite shows for the year list. I had such a good time that night.

i showed up late, just for tullycraft & the salteens. it was perfect :)

though i guess i can understand people liking boat and voxy, i find both bands unlistenable.

Hey wait a minute, that’s my taste you’re impugning there. It wasn’t doing anything, just standing there being impeccable and awesome…

Don’t make me challenge you to a dance-off to settle this, imaginary boy, because I’ll totally win.

yes, you undoubtedly will :) i can pogo with the best of ‘em, but have sadly let the lessons from my social dance class lapse with time.

i tried to make clear that it is to my ears, and mine alone, that particular band is lacking in quality. i did my best to not purposely besmirch your otherwise wonderful (tullycraft!) taste.

Alright, you’re off the hook for now. But I’m watching you.
