Joel Connelly of the P-I remembers what this day is meant to be all about with a column about labor unions.

I support unions; given my family history of being involved with unions, I suppose I’m biased, but considering that the state of the economy for those of us who aren’t executives at large fims is becoming more and more like the economy for workers before the rise of the labor movement, it’s worth it to at least consider what Connelly has to say on a day created to recognize the contributions made to our nation by its workers.
