Pearl Jam is too nice for my own good

I know, we talk a lot about 826 Seattle around here. We can’t help ourselves, it’s just how we roll. (Although we really don’t seem to talk about it nearly enough–I’m there every Saturday and none of y’all bitches ever come to say hello, with apologies to those of y’all bitches who do.)
And we do a lot of making fun of Pearl Jam around here too, although it’s possible that by “here” I really mean “my apartment.” But now I have to stop making fun of them because they have a habit of giving a part of their ticket sales to nonprofits in each town that they go through. Today at the Space Travel Supply Company we picked out presents to give to the band, because they’ve picked 826 as one of the organizations to give to. That’s a lot of money, kids, since they’re playing at the Gorge and seem to have sold the place out.

Also on the list are Arts Corps, a lovely program that provides arts education to kids K-12, and The Vera Project, the amazing all-ages music center.
