Lake Union not the only fire this week

While the cause of the fire at Lake Union is still undetermined (note that I, for one, am going to be considerably less than shocked when it turns out to be “someone setting off fireworks”), someone playing with fireworks sparked a massive three-alarm fire at an old school building in SeaTac on Sunday, July 2. Over a hundred firefighters from various local departments including Seattle, Tukwila, North Highline, Skyway, Burien, King County and the Port of Seattle were involved in putting out the fire which destroyed the (mercifully unoccupied) buiilding.

Fireworks are illegal in SeaTac so the fire is being considered arson. Police are asking anyone with information to call the statewide Arson Hotline at (800) 55-ARSON. Callers can remain anonymous.
