Yeah well, I understand and had that sentiment last year. I was a little cranky about having to drive into Seattle and sit in a weird-smelling theatre. ;)

The volunteering has not been tremendously difficult. The website said they had a need for ushers, so I signed up as an usher; then they said they had a need for will call, so I signed up for that. Surprisingly (to me), the lead ushers and manager have been extremely gracious in allowing me to see a couple of movies. Of course, I came with my game face on, ready to stay out and work -- and happy to!

I admit that I was a little cranky about the festival branching out to Bellevue because I'm selfish and want more showings close to home, but it's great to hear that the eastside experiment has been a success.

What sort of volunteering are you doing? Have you been able to catch any films while you're on the job?
