Why are we a two newspaper town again?

I was going to post about the school seven blocks from my house making the Seattle Schools closure list (oh, that’s a link to a PDF, BTW). But this morning I noticed something when I walked by the newspaper boxes.

Here’s the Times’ banner this morning:

So, is it 12 schools? Or 9? Or both? Or neither?

One of these papers needs to whap their fact checker on the nose with a rolled up copy of the AP Stylebook.

    Well, the list the advisory committee released yesterday has twelve actual buildings to close completely, and a lot of reshuffling happening amongst a series of other schools.

    Three of the schools are not ‘closing’ but moving to other buildings. I doubt that bit of hairsplitting will matter much to the parents and neighborhood activists.
