Cheeeeese

I can’t believe no one has posted about this, what I consider to be the most cultural festival here in Seattle. No, not SIFF, not Bumbershoot, or Sasquatch or Folklife. Yes, I’m a punning nerd, and yes, I’m talking about the Seattle Cheese Festival.

Happening May 12 - 14 (i.e. this weekend) in the Pike Place Market, cheese lovers unite to sample, the many, many flavors of “artisanal” cheese. Much of the festival is free, including the - oh my god, I may die - Cheese Concourse and also the various Chef Demos; but not the Artisanal Alley ($5) nor the seminars ($30) - the list of which reads like a C Ro’s version of heaven’s school bulletin. [scf]

Also of note: a wine garden and a children’s scavenger hunt. It’s never too early to learn about cheese or, more appropriately in my case, drink.

Thank you, DeLauranti. I can’t wait to be educated.
