  • While you spent last summer trying to get invited to sailboat parties, Cindy Sheehan camped outside George W. Bush’s ranch demanding a meeting about the war that killed her son. In the process, she became media sensation, and a sympathetic face for the antiwar movement. Tonight, she and others bring their “End the War” tour to Town Hall. [elliottbay]

  • Self-described space rockers Secret Machines play tonight at Neumos [#]. Pulsing without being too heavy, they play the sort of music that would make a nice soundtrack for a not-too-distant pre-apocalyptic future, or at least a runway show centered around a similar theme. The show’s all ages.
  • The Irish Emigrant hosts a quiz night at 8. For $2/player, teams compete for cash prizes and trivia bragging rights. There’s usually a couple of general interest rounds, one organized around a BINGO game, and occasional distorted celebrity photo identification round. And Declan [Decklin?], the host, has a legitimate Irish accent, which contributes to the atmosphere and the challenge of getting the right answer.
