Monday agenda: protests, books, and pretty ladies
Happy Monday, everyone. You could stay home tonight and mope about the rest of your work week, but really, why?
If you missed your chance a couple of weeks ago to get your protest on, there’ll be another today in support of immigration reform. “Marchers will go to South Jackson Street and Fourth Avenue South, and end with a rally at the Jackson Federal Building at Second Avenue and Madison Street.” This one starts around 4, so if you leave work now you can certainly still make it [P-I].
If you were a smart cookie, you bought tickets to see Cat Power tonight at the Showbox ages ago. If you didn’t, but you’re a cute cookie, you could try the old “stand outside and hope someone takes pity on you and wants to sell you their extra ticket” trick, ’cause that sucker is sold out.
Or you could go see A .M. Homes tonight at Elliott Bay. She’s back in town with her new novel, “This Book Will Save Your Life.” She’ll start reading around 8:00, but come early and have a grilled cheese in the cafe. They make a yummy grilled cheese.

Just received an email from the Showbox saying:
Tickets WILL be released for tonight’s Cat Power show at the Showbox! The show is all-ages, doors are at 8pm, and tickets are $28.00 at the door, cash only. Come on down!
