“Has anyone’s day been influenced by the lack of immigrants working?” asked someone on a tech worker mailing list.

“Not here,” replied one. “Nope,” replied another. “Not so far,” said a third.

I read that, and then walked down to the cafeteria near my office for lunch. The lines were extra long and the food selection wasn’t much. About two-thirds of the regular cafeteria staff were missing.

A useful reminder.
